The children have been learning the vocabulary for the different items found in their pencil cases. They practised asking each other what they would need in order to write or draw.
Being a language detective
Year 4 were language detectives, they annotated a poem, looking for cognates – words that are familiar to them and that are similar to an English word. They then identified learnt and practised a few verbs using actions to help remember.
La Rentree
This half term the children are learning about ‘Returning to school’. This first lesson was revision of year 3 French. The children revised greeting each other, asking each other’s names and ages. They then revised colours to enable them to describe themselves.
