LO: to express an opinion about certain foods

Year 4 were introduced to some new vocabulary. They practised pronouncing some new words about food. They expressed their opinions about different foods, using vocabulary from last week. Two new words were also introduced. They children then played pass the parcel, when the music stopped the took a picture out of the bag, expressing their opinions with a gesture and repeating their opinions. They also sang a song about numbers.

LO: to express and opinion about a toy

Year 4 started a new topic, L’argent de poche – pocket money. We discussed what kinds of things they bought with their pocket money, then the children learnt some new vocabulary. They were shown some pictures and expressed their opinion, using: J’aime, Je n’aime pas, J’adore and Je deteste. To help them remember, they used thumbs up and thumbs down when they expressed their opinion.

Lesson 6: jeudi 14 octobre 2021

LO: I can use As – tu in stylo?

Year 4 revised the names of the stationery found in their pencil case. They then practised identifying which stationery one would use when drawing, writing, and reading. They then asked their partner the question: As -tu un stylo? Do you have a pen? Using voila and merci when their partner said yes, they did and passed over a pen. They then practised asking the same question but with different items of stationery.

European Day of Languages

LO: I can celebrate the European Day of languages by finding out about Portugal and learning to say a few words in Portuguese

Year 4 found out about Portugal and learnt to say some words in Portuguese . They identified learnt to say some greetings in Portuguese(guided by a very helpful pupil) and counted to ten. They then completed a counting fruit activity. Just for fun, we learnt how to say those numbers in Italian, Turkish, Lithuanian, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Swedish too!

LO: I can practise pronouncing the names of the stationery found in my pencil case

Year 4 learnt the names of the items they would find in their pencil case.They listened and repeated the words ,then sang their song of the half term, Dans ma sac….They used the sentence structure to say Dans ma trousse, il y a ……they then chose their own pencil case picture and filled it with pictures and labelled them with their new vocabulary.
